Virtual Care

When you have a medical need, and you want to connect with someone quickly, a virtual care visit (or telemedicine) visit is likely a good—and convenient—solution. Each Nutanix medical plan gives you access to telemedicine services. Connect with board-certified physicians 24/7, 365 days a year, without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

  • UnitedHealthcare provides Optum Virtual Care for 24/7. You can also download the UnitedHealthcare app. Video (with audio) visits can be requested on demand or scheduled.
  • Kaiser Permanente provides Video Visits. You can also connect to Video Visits through Kaiser’s app.

Primary Care

When your issue is not immediate but does require you to see a doctor in person, schedule an appointment with your primary care provider. Keep in mind, using in-network providers saves you and the plan money. When you are in need of in-person care, here’s how to find a doctor in your network.

Remember

Preventive care is always covered at 100% in-network, so you pay nothing.

Urgent Care

Sometimes immediate care needs arise. For those that are non-life-threatening, head to an urgent care facility. Like primary care, using an in-network urgent care clinic will save you and the plan money. Visit your medical plan provider’s website to find a local facility.

24/7 Advice—Kaiser

There are times when you have a question or would like some guidance. Nurses are available to answer your health questions and help you get the most out of your medical plan—confidentially and at no cost to you.

Prescriptions

The cost of prescription drugs is rising faster than many other healthcare services and supplies. But there are ways for you to save.

  • Ask your doctor about generic medications. Generic medications are generally just as effective as brand-name medications, but they typically cost much less.
  • Use the mail-order feature. If you take maintenance medication to treat a chronic condition—such as an allergy, heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes—the convenience and cost savings of the mail-order prescription program will save you time and money.
Why use mail-order?
  • Prescriptions are shipped to you for free—no waiting in line at the pharmacy.
  • You save money with a reduced cost for a three-month supply.
  • You can set up automatic refills.

Generic medications

A generic drug is a prescription drug that has the same active-ingredient formula as a brand-name drug. Generic drugs usually cost less than brand-name drugs. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rates these drugs to be as safe and effective as brand-name drugs.
