When you welcome a new child to the family, you can take time away from work for maternity or parental leave. Take the following steps to ensure a smooth transition for your leave and return to work:
To add your new child to your Nutanix benefits, follow these instructions and make your changes in Workday. You must add your new child to your benefits within 60 days of the birth, date of adoption, or start of foster care.
When making these changes, you may also want to update your voluntary life insurance coverage with Prudential to ensure your family’s financial security in case the unexpected happens.
Don’t forget to get a Social Security number for the new addition to your family! While you don’t need a Social Security number to enroll your new family member for benefits, you’ll need it for tax purposes related to your benefits.
Consider contributing pre-tax dollars to a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA). You can use this account to pay for eligible dependent care expenses that are necessary for you and/or your spouse to work, look for work, or attend school full time. Eligible expenses may include child day care (under the age of 13) or home care for tax-dependent adults. Learn more about the Dependent Care FSA and review eligible expenses—such as pre-school, day camp, after school programs, and more.
Now is the time to update your beneficiary information if you’d like to add your new child.
