Moving to/from California or Hawaii | Update Workday | Emotional Support: EAP & Ginger | Arrange Time Off

If you’re moving to/from California or Hawaii, you may have access to different medical plans. Review the changes needed when you move between these states and take action. Any changes to medical coverage must be made within 30 days of your move date.
From California | If you’re currently enrolled in the Kaiser Permanente HMO and you move to another state, you will need to change your medical coverage to a plan available in the state to which you are moving. (The HMO is only available in California.) If you’re enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus plan and you move to another state, you will remain enrolled in the Choice Plus plan, which will automatically convert to a non-CA network plan. |

To California | If you’re enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus plan and you move to California, you will remain enrolled in the Choice Plus plan, which will automatically convert to a CA network plan. Note: The Kaiser Plan is available to you when you move to California. However, you can’t enroll in this plan until the next open enrollment period in the fall. |
From Hawaii | If you move to another state, you will need to change your medical coverage to a plan available in the state to which you are moving. (The UHC Hawaii Plan is only available in Hawaii.) |
To Hawaii | If you move to Hawaii, the only available medical plan is the UHC Hawaii plan. You will need to change your medical plan. |
To any other states | There are no eligible changes available to you if you move between any other states. Please make sure you update your address in Workday. |

If you need time off to prepare and complete your move, be sure to speak with your manager about securing time off and entering your time away in Workday. Make this request as soon as possible so coverage for your current responsibilities can be arranged during the transition and for the time you’re away.
